We helped finding a packing material import agent!

【The beginning】
- A British state government office introduced us to a client from the UK.
【Their purpose】
- To sell British cushion and packing material product and related equipment in Japan.
- To find representative dealer(s) in Japan.
【Their questions】
- They had industry-specific requirements for potential import companies and they had a list of companies that they wanted to meet.
- They had questions about the norms of doing business here.
【Our responses】
- We arranged meetings for our client with their own list of Japanese companies.
- Tokyo Business Entry Point did our own research to expand the list of possible companies, and we made appointments for them as well.
- How should they handle visas?
- We advised our client on Japanese business customs and as a result, they were able to complete their research and market their business in Japan.
【The result】
- The client couldn't finalize a deal with the company who they had a first meeting; however, TBEP had intermittently approached to another company who they postponed meeting in the beginning and successfully managed to set up a meeting with the CEO about an year later. They both agreed on agency contract and placed trial order for a 20ft-container amount of products and 18 related equipments.
【The TBEP coordinator for this project noted】
- The Japanese company who our client signed agency contract with this time first refused to have a meeting a year ago since the client's product level is too high and they're not ready.
- However, TBEP consistently approached to the company upon the client's request, and finally they admitted that the products of the client's are compatible to Japanese market and adopted the deal.
- The agent company reports that they receive more orders for the imported trial products than they imagined and the future expansion of the business is highly expected.
