Global Network, Domestic Network
Tokyo is Japan's largest international hub for both passengers and freight, with its direct flights to the world's leading airports and its position on container vessel routes to the world's leading ports. Highways, railways (including the Shinkansen lines), and national flights allow for easy access to major cities in Japan.
Re-expansion and internationalization of Haneda Airport
Haneda Airport is located in Tokyo and affords excellent access to the downtown area. It is a domestic air hub with a network of flights to around 50 airports in Japan. The offshore construction of Haneda Airport's fourth runway is now in progress and will increase the airport's capacity by approximately 1.4-fold upon completion. International flights are scheduled to be in operation by October 2010.

Large container berths at Port of Tokyo
The Port of Tokyo operates a total of 15 container berths, including the piers at Oi and Aomi, which can handle 50,000-ton, large container vessels. The construction of new deepwater container berths will allow for the handling of increased freight demand and larger vessels.

Convenient daily travel in Tokyo is made possible by the intersecting rail network, such as the new transportation system and subway lines, and other forms of public transport. The construction of three ring roads is in progress in Tokyo Metropolitan area. When completed, these roads will be forming a balanced network of expressways linked to circular and radial routes, ensuring a smooth flow of cargoes transfer from airports and ports.
